CAPER SPONSORED Workshops & CONFERENCES
We work with a variety of partners, to host cutting edge professional development workshops for faculty who teach astronomy, physics and the geosciences. Our workshops are collaborative, and focus on pragmatic classroom actions that can be used to enhance the instructor's "teaching toolkit." Rather than listening to lectures on how to not lecture students, faculty engage in the kinds of activities that we know work with students. Threaded throughout, we provide an introduction to the most robust findings in the cognitive sciences, so that faculty can have a head start on adapting teaching interventions for their own classrooms.
